Nancy learns that she can pull things out of her dreams, and this spawns a showdown with the madman back where her nightmare began as a small child.
The re-imagining had some familiar scenes, which made it parallel the original very nicely. It was much better in terms of computer generated effects, unlike what could have been produced back in 1984. Jackie Earle Haley, who has been featured in many films including the popular comic inspired film "The Watchmen" portrays the wicked Freddy Krueger, and giving the character a new spin and a terrifying new face in the process.
