Watch The Master Work: Check Out Denzel Washington Movies

By Denzel Smith

Portraying many different roles throughout his acting career, Denzel Washington movies find the well known actor taking on roles such as police officer, criminal and a combination of them both, but he never stops entertaining.

He was born Denzel Hayes Washington Jr. On December 28, 1954 in the city of Mount Vernon, NY. His mom worked as a beautician while his father was a preacher. He went to school for journalism, but caught the acting bug.

After a few small television roles, his big break came in the 1981 movie Carbon Copy starring George Segal. The biggest break in his career was not from movies, but on a television show called St Elsewhere. He acted a cast member for six years on the show while working on the movies The Mighty Quinn and For Queen and Country. These roles led to his next movie, which was Glory, for which he was awarded an Academy Award for his part. He would go on to pick up a second Oscar for his portrayal of a corrupt cop for the movie Training Day.

His main strengths lie in the fact that he portrays actual people. The movies American Gangster, Remember the Titans, and The Hurricane are all based on the lives of real people. Then there are those movies where his mind plays tricks on him, such as his roles in Fallen and Deja Vu.

Lots of Denzel movies feature him in a role of authority, playing high ranking officers and military roles. In both Virtuosity and Crimson Tide, he portrayed a lieutenant, but in his role for He Got Game, he was a bad father out of prison, trying to get over on his son the basketball player, in exchange for a shortened prison stint.

There have been numerous films in which Denzel has starred and given bright performances that do not translate to box office results. Purchasing or renting Denzel Washington movies are a good investment when there is time to watch the master. - 40732
