Downloading Motion Pictures Is Preferable To A Mail Membership Or Retail Store

By Gail Green

There are a few disadvantages to the old-fashioned method of getting films to view. Often the movie you want is out of stock at the store and even with the subscription services you end up getting a different movie than the one you wanted since it is not available.

You would probably think that it may be better having a subscription service. After all, you simply get on the computer and request what you want. If your first choice movie isn't available then they end up sending you your next, third, or fifth choice instead. You just can't guarantee that you will get the movie that you want.

So with a subscription service or a video store, odds are that the movie that you are really wanting to view is not really available. Also, many times you are waiting way too long for the new releases.

However now there is a great choice to this never-ending dilemma. You can now download full-length, high-quality movies along with games, software, music and more from enhanced comfort of your home with your personal computer. Having a reliable movie downloading website you can be sure to avoid any computer problems like viruses and it is also cost-effective.

Commonly, you will get monthly, annual or perhaps a lifetime membership to these downloading websites for a very reasonable fee. The prices available are very competitive with the video store or even the subscription services.

Even so the advantage that downloading has beyond the other options is you can obtain the same full-length, high-quality movies and you can download them instantly to your computer. After that you can transfer it to a disc to watch it from your Television the same as always.

Downloading is easily the most convenient way to get movies ever. There isn't any waiting for availability because if the movie has been released previously on video it's available, morning, noon or night, 24/7 as well as holidays. You won't ever have to depart your home.

This can be the easiest and most convenient way to get films and it's also absolutely a lot better than the video shops and subscription companies. - 40732

Stanley Kubrick's Weird Comedy Film Dr Strangelove

By Randi Rosales

Stanley Kubrick's Dr Strangelove - How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb stands as one of the all time great films about war because it is so much different from any other film on the subject. It has much more in common with the work of the Marx Brothers than it does with Saving Private Ryan or The Dirty Dozen. The black humor of the film is exactly why it was considered controversial upon release, and how it manages to be so sincere and honest on the subject of nuclear war.

The film is very funny because when you think about it, the very notion of war is absurd. Not to discredit the courage of those who have gone to defend their countries, the film focuses on the business of war, the administrative end, where politicians will send men to die for the sake of their own egos. In fact the notion of the bomb as phallic symbol is made literal with the iconic image of the film: Major Kong riding a nuclear bomb down to Earth while whirling a cowboy hat over his head.

The film is primarily a comedy, and it's a real comedy. The jokes aren't just meant to "make you think", they're really there to make you laugh, so while the movie definitely makes its point, it's certainly not the sort of humor that's "Not funny, but has something to say". The humor is, in fact, incredibly funny.

Years later, when Kubrick made Full Metal Jacket, he seemed to fully embrace the humorous nature of war to the point that there were no overt jokes in that film, but rather, he simply relies on the weirdness of war to provide the humor. While not as direct as Dr. Strangelove, Full Metal Jacket is equally funny in spite of the lack of any real comedic elements.

Peter Sellers in multiple roles is perhaps the heart of the film. In recent years, the idea of one actor playing several characters has become trite, and it's usually the sign of a bad comedy with a weak script and only enough of a budget to hire one skilled comic in hopes of salvaging bad material. Sellers, on the other hand, was the master of creating several comic characters and making them all feel like different people. There's no in-joke to Sellers playing so many characters, it's just that he was better suited than anybody to play all of them.

The centerpiece of these would have to be Doctor Strangelove himself. Strangelove is portrayed as a former Nazi, whose limp right hand will sometimes snap into a Nazi salute. It is through Strangelove that the link between nuclear armament and sexual dysfunction is made most clear and direct. When the bombs start to fall, his sexual thrill is made nearly tangible.

George C. Scott's performance as General Buck Turgidson is another highlight. It's odd to see such a wild performance from Scott, who is typically noted as a gruff master of understatement. Certainly, his trademark is to do with a grizzly whisper what most would do with a shout. Kubrick actually had to trick Scott into going so wild for this role by requesting over the top "practice" takes, and then using them in the actual movie. Slim Pickens as Major Kong was similarly fooled into giving a straight performance by being told that the film was a standard war film and not a comedy.

If you've not seen it yet, Dr. Strangelove is one of the all time great films on the subject of war, and definitely one of those to see some time in your life. It is the only statement that anyone needs to make on the silliness of war. - 40732

Legal Film Downloading Is The Ticket

By Delia Watson

Do legal movie downloads really exist? Until relatively recently, legal movie downloads have not existed on the Internet in any major way. All that is changing fast as many companies and websites are offering legal movie download products.

If you consider downloading pirated videos, not only are you breaking the law and risking getting into trouble, including the possibility of a large fine, but you also leave yourself open to getting malicious software and your computer. Many unscrupulous users use the websites where you find the pirated videos to lace their software with viruses. These viruses will harm your computer.

However, convenience is by far the biggest advantage of movie downloads, simply because you don't have to go all the way to your video store just to find what you want. Also, if you order online and wait for delivery, you can be waiting quite a few days and then there can be problems with the mail, making experience even more frustrating. However, the convenience factor when it comes to movie downloads is an absolute godsend for many of us.

As you can probably imagine, downloading movies is a lot more convenient than going down to your local store, where you probably won't even be able to find what you want anyway. Particularly if you have slightly unusual tastes, you will find that your local movie store often does not have what you are looking for.

Of course another very viable alternative is to order the movies online and get them sent you by the post but this is both time consuming and expensive. If you have a good Internet connection, there is absolutely no reason why you can't download movies online. However, there are a few worries that people have which puts them off.

Most of the fears of downloading movies are unfounded. You should be able to download high definition movies at the same or better quality than DVD. You should be able to see some samples first before you actually buy. Obviously, the higher quality the movie is, the higher the file size would be so you will want to take this into account.

There are many different formats available as well. Nonetheless, there are only a few formats available which actually work on most players. For example, if you were to download DivX movies, for which most of them are, you should be able to play the more on all sorts of different machines.

Another factor that you should pay attention to is the formats. Since even with a broadband connection, it does take some time and bandwidth to download a movie, you want to make sure that it is going to play on everything you want it to play on.

Since most of us will want to play these movies on a TV also, you will want to be able to burn your download to a DVD. This is a great way to build a movie library without spending tons of money. - 40732

Tchaikovsky - A Musical Phenomenon

By Mark Walters

Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was born in Votkinsk Russia on May 7th 1840. His family were relatively well off and the young Tchaikovsky showed promise in both music and languages from a very early age. It has been reported that Tchaikovsky could read music adeptly from the age of just 8 years old. He began taking piano lessons at the age of 5 and it is said that he told his parents that he was kept awake at night by music flowing through his mind. Tchaikovsky's mother died of cholera when he was 14 years old and it is said he never got over losing his mother.

Tchaikovsky's parents initially supported the furthering of his musical talents, however not realizing the extent of his ability it was eventually decided that he would be better off studying for a more stable career in the civil service. He was sent to the School of Jurisprudence at the age of 10 and did not study music seriously for quite some time while attending the school. After his graduation in 1859 he returned to the study of music and began taking lessons at the St Petersburg Conservatory. In 1863 he resigned from his job with the civil service so that he could study music full time.

Free from the constraints of regular employment Tchaikovsky was able to devote himself to his music. With Anton Rubenstein, the director of the conservatory, as his mentor he was able to fully study the conservatory's curriculum. Rubenstein was a contemporary of Franz Liszt and noted for his technical excellence.

Tchaikovsky began to complete several notable compositions between 1865 and 1892 and on October 25th 1875 his third symphony premiered in Boston. His works were notable for their melodic qualities and Tchaikovsky is considered to be the master composer for classical ballet. During this time he composed some of his most well loved works - Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker. As his reputation as a composer began to grow in Europe he entered into an ill-fated marriage that only lasted for 9 weeks.

Tchaikovsky continued to enjoy great success and traveled to many places but another ill-fated romance plagued him and his private life was somewhat troubled. Tchaikovsky fled to America in 1891 where he spent some time touring and conducting before making a return to Russia. His Sixth Symphony, Pathetique, was first aired in October 1893 but was poorly received this was thought to be down to the fact that Tchaikovsky himself was conducting - something he was never comfortable with doing - the symphony eventually received much greater success.

Tchaikovsky died on November 6th 1893 in St Petersburg it is believed he contracted cholera after drinking water that was contaminated. His death came just one week after the premiere of Pathetique and Tchaikovsky would never know that his symphony would go on to be regarded as one of his greatest ever musical compositions. - 40732

Opera - Mozart

By Mark Walters

Mozart, who was born in Salzburg, spent a great deal of time learning about music from his father. He was taught so well, and picked up on things so quickly, that he was able to produce his first piece of composed music when he was 5 years old. This is not surprising when you realize that he was playing the piano when he was 4. His clear natural talent, and his ability to learn things that it would take others years to learn, meant that the spotlight was on him almost straight away.

Mozart's symphonies started with symphony number one and went all of the way to symphony number 41. He is most often known for the last three that he produced and composed. One of the most famous that you might know is the symphony number 40 in G minor. This is the most common to most people and they will tell you that they know it when they hear it.

He has also been known for the cantatas that he composed and produced as he worked within the arts. One of the most famous that many people will report knowing is the "Little Masonic Cantata". You may even know it is as the nation anthem of Austria if you pay close attention. This just goes to show that Mozart really did leave his mark on the world.

Piano concertos were also very common for him. One of these is the piano concerto numbered 27. It has been slowed down and used in the movie Elvira Madigan. This is just one of his amazing pieces that made it onto the movie screen for everyone to enjoy and love.

There is another film that used Mozart's music within the film. This is the movie called Out of Africa. This is a relatively large motion picture and it included one of his concertos. It was the Clarinet Concerto in A Major that left its mark on the film and the people that saw it. But, you need to realize that he also created many concertos that were made for the bassoon, the oboe, and the horn as well. It is amazing the amount of work that one man was able to do. If you were to sit and listen to much of his music you would be amazed at how much of it you actually know, you just did not realize it. Maybe you know a little more about the arts than you thought you did. - 40732

Gain Wealth With The Help Of Secret Movie

By Dr. Robert Anthony

Two-thousand-six marked the release of the film, secret movie created by Prime Time productions that explores the law of attraction and which can be utilized to attract wealth. The book together with the movie gained the attention of media figures like Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres and Larry King. The basis of the film consists of interviews with different specialists and believers in the law of attraction movement and how individuals can get what they want with using the law of attraction.

The law of attraction states that in-order to get what one needs, one should visualize him or herself in that situation. Rather than focusing on the negative realities of life and a person's present condition, people ought to target on what they want and they'll get it, therefore energy attracts like energy.

Actually the law of attraction is a tool which is used to get the things that you sincerely want, it's not something which will magically grant you all your desires. Law of attraction actually works as a subjective reality. This means that it's in the mind of the individual which the law of attraction works. It all depends on the person's mind, if he thinks that the law of attraction is going to aid him to attain his objective it'll absolutely help him, but if he thinks that it would not then it definitely will not.

For example, say an individual is poor and desires to be wealthy. According to The Secret, if an individual follows these 3 steps: ask, answer and receive, they can attain wealth. Believers in the law of attraction say that with asking, an individual ought to visualize what they want being a reality and a possibility, or visualize being rich, getting extra cash or whatever items one wants.

The individual must believe once they have a clear idea of what they want. That's, adjust ones thoughts as if one is already wealthy. A person must maintain and focus thoughts and language on what it is a person desires to attract.

Finally an individual should receive and be open to receiving. By paying attention to intuitive messages and taking signs from the universe, a person can attain wealth. According to believers and followers of the secret movie and the law of attraction attaining wealth could be done utilizing the secrets three steps, i.e. by asking, answering and receiving and wealth is only a couple of thoughts away. - 40732

Is The Blockbusting Avatar Worth Your Time And Cash?

By Jessica J. Janeson

If you happen to be on of the few people who hasn't seen the blockbuster "Avatar," and are still wondering if it is worth your time and money, let this short article be your guide. I'll give it my honest review, and help you to make an informed decision. Movies are expensive these days, and you don't want to waste your money.

The first positive about the movie is the magnificent special effects. The aliens are so real in this movie, you'd swear they were as real as the guy sitting next to you in the theater. There is no need to suspend your disbelief, or go along with the story. The aliens are just as real as the human actors, and the interaction between them are completely real and believable.

Good point number two. The scenery of the movie is absolutely breathtaking. The mountains, the trees the real and imaginary plants are a beautiful sight to behold. If like nature, then you'll love this movie simply for it's breathtaking display of the natural world on this imaginary alien planet.

Ok, now for the bad points. The plot is fairly predictable, and there are really no surprises. Even the final battle between the good guy and the bad guy is like something out of a comic book movie. The dialogue is unimaginative, and the ideas presented through the plot are nothing new. In fact, if you've ever seen a movie with a good guy versus a bad guy, then you'll likely figure out how this will end.

The second drawback is that some may find this movie a little condescending. The aliens only are able to defeat the bad humans with the help of another human. And as the aliens are clearly metaphorical representations of the Native Americans, this means that the Native Americans can only save themselves with the help of a white guy.

But in the end, the positives clearly out weight the negatives, making this movie well worth watching. We strongly recommend that you see this while it is still in theaters, so you can fully enjoy this stunning visual treat. - 40732

Is 2012 The Best Calamity Movie Ever Made?

By Jessica J. Janeson

If you haven't seen the end of the world thriller "2012," then hopefully this review will convince you to. I'll tell you up front that this movie is definitely worth seeing, and will be well worth you money. By the end of this article, you'll understand why. This movie, of course, is based on the prediction that the world will end in 2012. While that may be true, hopefully you'll read this article before then.

This movie follows the traditional disaster movie formula, flashing between several different characters, stunning special effects, and serious moral dilemmas that must be answered. We get to experience the lives of characters as they struggle against the impending disaster, and also as they realize there isn't a lot they can do other than accept their fate.

The movie starts out with some scientists discovering some troubling data regarding the core of the Earth. A scientist working for the United States government travels to India, where they observe some troubling indications of the impending end of the world.

As the government deals with how to handle the problem of an ending world, we see how several different characters deal with as well as the earth changing disaster slowly reveals itself to the unsuspecting public. Some of these characters will find a way to survive, while many will not.

Some of the characters that we meet are fine, upstanding and moral people that we wouldn't mind having as next door neighbors, or even in-laws. Nevertheless, we must watch as they realize that the end is near, and they must accept their fate.

The general message of the movie is that only by working together, can humanity save it self against the tide of history. Initially, the project which is developed to save only a small percentage of people is reserved only for the wealthy and the scientifically literate, in the end they make room for the common, blue collar worker. In this it is a testament to the strength of the human spirit. If you haven't seen this fine piece of film making yet, I'd recommend you put it on your list of DVDs to rent as soon as possible. - 40732

Secrets About The Corrupt Public School System

By Edith Simpson

The school system may be made to be a great deal profitable, says Bob Bowdon, however entirely at the expense of things comparable to teachers and students. In his documentary "The Cartel," Bowdon, a New Jersey television news newsperson, turns the camera on the massive degeneracy and misdirection that has led his state to squander more than any other on its students just with substandard results. The numbers express the tale: $17,000 exhausted per student, and there's simply a 39% reading proficiency rate, it's tough to argue that there's a crisis afoot, but harder to concur on a solution.

On the one side is the massive Jersey teachers union and umbrageous school officials, who see to it that that, as Bowdon points out in his picture, 90 cents of every tax dollar go for other expenses, including six figure incomes for school administrators and, in a astonishing example, a school board secretary who makes $180,000. The other faction are the supporters of charter schools, the private schools that can evade the authority of the public school system and would aid inner-city kids if their taxpayer money could be more carefully used. One of Bowdon's principal criticisms is that a teacher, even a shoddy one, basically can't be fired -- which provides zero effort to do much genuine instruction.

"The documentary examines lots of out of the ordinary aspects of public education, tenure, backing, support drops, corruption --meaning theft -- vouchers and charter schools," says Bowdon. "And as such it kind of serves as a rapid-moving primer on all of the raging topics between the education-reform crusade."

Bowdon's docudrama started touring the festival circuit in summer of 2009 and made its theatrical debut in April 2010. Hopefully it will get a rise, and not be overshadowed, by the more recently released documentary "Waiting for Superman," by "An Inconvenient Truth" director Davis Guggenheim. Bowdon sees the films as complementary, and hopes that "Superman," with its human-interest position, draws more interest to his own, which focuses on public policy. "The two films make exchangeable conclusions," Bowdon says.

The left-brained approach means arguments that watch the economics -- money misspent, opportunities wasted. He follows the money to extract conclusions about how shameless the Jersey school system is, but his picture features moments of elevated emotion and grief. A girl's weeping upon hearing that she wasn't selected to attend a charter school, that she's stuck in her public school, exemplify the failure of a system as well as Bowdon's charts and interviews.

And though it may be simple to accept the presence of corruption in a state so associated with organized crime, the uncomfortable fact of the subject is that this is a very familiar situation. Any watcher will acknowledge the failings of their own state's education system and the struggle for control. The one he seems to be most behind is the charter schools, which take the reins from the unions and give them back to the taxpayer. But "The Cartel" also shows us how laborious it's going to be to get that control back from those who've found it so profitable. - 40732

The Truth Regarding The Collapsing Of The Education System

By Letitia Reyes

There's money to be made in education, argues Bob Bowdon, therefore simply if you cut out the unprofitable bits, like terrific teachers. In his education docudrama "The Cartel," Bowdon, a TV news reporter in New Jersey, paints a remarkable ugly scene of the institutional putridness that has resulted in virtually unbelievable wastes of taxpayer money. It's not hard for Bowdon to illustrate that something's appallingly incorrect with a state that pays $17,000 per student but can only wield a 39% reading proficiency rate -- that there's a crisis is undeniable, how to deal with it is different question entirely.

Present are two major factions in Bowdon's picture -- the villains are reasonably clearly the Jersey teachers union and school board who funnel 90 cents of every dollar away from teachers' salaries and towards incidentals, including six-figure salaries for school administrators. The other cabal is the supporters of charter schools, the private schools that can evade the control of the public school system and would serve inner-city kids if their taxpayer money could be more cautiously used. In those impoverished public schools, Bowdon points out, it's pretty much unimaginable to fire an instructor -- so even a deficient one has a job for life.

"'The Cartel' examines lots of distinctive aspects of public teaching, tenure, financing, support drops, corruption --meaning thieving -- vouchers and charter schools," says Bowdon. "And as such it kind of serves as a rapid-moving primer on all of the blistering topics amongst the education-reform movement."

"The Cartel" started fashioning the round of the festivals in summer 2009, and made its theatrical debut pretty much a year later, in spring 2010. It however proceeds the more-recently released, while higher profile, education documentary "Waiting for Superman," directed by Davis Guggenheim ("An Inconvenient Truth"). Bowdon says the documentaries can be seen as companion pieces: his focusing on public policy and Guggenheim's taking the human-interest angle. "The two films reach parallel conclusions," Bowdon says.

And Bowdon's film is unrelentingly critical, making a powerful case for the concept that the quantity of money spent is nowhere near as key as how it is spent. Whilst he calls it left-brained, still "The Cartel" reaches some grievous moments of emotion. The weeping face of a youthful girl who learns she was not selected for a place at a charter school makes its own intense debate for the unsatisfactory failure of a state's education system.

And though there's an irony in this form of public depravity happening in a state famed for its organized crime, it's clear that this is not an isolated collapse. Any viewer will acknowledge the failings of their own state's education system and the fight for control. Bowdon puts his faith in the charter schools, where the taxpayer has influence over the kind and quality of instruction. But he also makes it apparent that those in power are going to be unwilling to give it up without a struggle. - 40732

Discovering How To Use The Best Zombie Movies To Enhance A Halloween Experience

By Adriana Noton

Generally when one hosts a video party for Halloween, or other scary occasion, playing a variety of movies is often a requirement. As such, if one has created a party with a zombie theme, one may want to play some of the best zombie movies one can find. For, in doing so, one can add an authentic zombie feel to any such event.

So, whether one enjoys modern zombie movies or classic ones, often one enjoys such a party. For, whether attendees also wear zombie attire, or merely gather together for a video night, one can often be quite frightened by a number of horrific zombie tales. As such, using a zombie theme for such a party either now or in the future is something one may want to consider.

However, if one desires to be as authentic as possible with such an event, one may want to consider watching several zombie related movies in advance. For, in doing so, one can get a great idea for costuming and decoration well in advance of the party. After which, one can relax and enjoy the party with everyone else, rather than having to run back and forth during the party for something which has been overlooked due to rushed planning.

Of course, several of the most famous zombie movies ever have been directed by George Romero. In fact, his most recent release, Survival of the Dead, has almost seen as much interest as the entire Night of the Living Dead series which came much earlier in his career. So, one can still expect to see many new zombie themed movies to hit theaters in the future.

After which, one can then make a broader selection of such videos to play during the party. For, whether one plays such videos with or without sound, often having a zombie video playing in the background can often enhance any horror or zombie themed party. So, whether individuals actually watch the movie, or merely just mingle with such videos in the background, often a party feels more authentic with such entertainment.

In addition, as there are a variety of movies in which zombies are both good and bad, one may want to select a variety in relation to behavior as well as personality. For, whether one watches positive zombies, or horrific ones, if one watches the same zombies over and over, one is no doubt going to get bored. As such, when one can provide a wider variety in relation to different styles of zombies, one can often keep folks better entertained.

Regardless, one can often find a number of both great and not so great zombie movies and related films at the local video rental store. As such, one may want to first rent a selection of zombie movies before deciding whether or not one would like to own such a film. For, in doing so, one can often save a great deal of money by not buying films which one may never watch again after the first viewing.

To this end, while there are many films which can be considered the best zombie movies of all time, most often personal preference plays a role in identifying such films. So, one must decide for oneself which films one believes to be the best. For, just as zombies have differences in personalities so too humans. As such, one must decide which zombie horror movies are best based on the style of the film and personality of the zombies, in order to provide such a rating. - 40732

Watch Films Using Good Movie Download Services

By Francis Willis

Many people really love to watch movies. The only problem is that most do not like how very expensive it can actually get. A trip to a theater can be quite costly, just to watch one, single movie. They could always buy a DVD, but then you have invested in something that you may not really like. Movie download sites are really a much better choice.

The good news is that there are ones you can use that are perfectly legal and legitimate. You do not have to resort to any type of illegal activity to enjoy your favorite movies. They do not use torrents or file sharing. They have complete and legal downloads of recent and popular movies.

They make it simple and convenient for you to be able to do so. A lot of them even let you burn a movie to DVD if you enjoyed it and want to keep a copy. With such great choices, these downloading services are worth your membership fee. Their fees are usually very reasonable and you get access to a large number of movies.

Using one of these services also means you can avoid the high fees of premium cable services. They charge per channel and you do not even get to choose what movies they play. You are at the whit and whim of whatever is on their programming line-up.

If the movie they are running does not appeal to you, you still have no other choice. You could suddenly discover you have been wasting a significant amount of money. You pay the same monthly fees, regardless of whether or not you enjoyed their programming.

You may choose to rent from a video store, but options there can also be very limited. What they offer is confined by shelf space. They also only carry a set number of copies of each movie. If the one you want to watch is already rented, then you have to wait. The rental fees you pay, per movie, can also add up significantly.

The movie download services allow you to avoid these associated issues. For one membership fee, you can download and watch almost any movie you want. You will not find out that a movie you want to see is unavailable, since it is all on digital files. Tons of people can all download and watch the same movie. Your only limit is from the capabilities of your computer and your Internet connection.

The downloads are usually available as soon as the film comes out on DVD. Rather than spending around $20 for a DVD, you only have to invest a fraction of that cost. For a movie you really like, you can keep it and watch it as many times as you want. And if you did not like it, it is simple to delete the small file from your computer.

If you have a high speed Internet service, you will like the service provided by movie download sites. You can watch almost any movie, whether new or classic and in any genre you can imagine. If your download is disrupted, most even allow you to resume, so you do not have to start all over. - 40732

Covering Up The Obvious

By Mariam Azimi

It's an obvious fact in the horror genre of films that are the most appealing cover loop holes in the script, or hide an actor's inadequacy in reference to their acting, by putting emphasis on visuals. Horror films within the last few years have slowly created these blemish-masking techniques into two main fields readily accepted by mental and sexual frustrated audiences: visceral death and steamy sex.

For example, in 2005's House of Wax, director Jaume Collet-Serra saved ears worldwide from Hilton's dim line deliveries by...giving her a sex scene in a tent. She could have been educating film viewers on the positive sides of the Holocaust and it wouldn't matter as long as all eyes were on the screen and hearts raced.

Director Deon Taylor's recent release Chain Letter embraces the flip side by using gruesome, spine tingling, Mortal Combat-style deaths to cover up his writer's flaws and welcome horror fans into the Halloween season with style. For example, in a key scene a stereotypical White jock lambasts his lack of college football scholarships while fatiguing after a 1 minute run on the treadmill and displaying the bench press skills of a quadriplegic. How to hide this? Hmm...break his arms and rip his face off (in a see-saw motion, of course). With no mouth, horror-loving audiences with the memories of gold fish forget he could ever talk in the first place. Problem solved.

But again, in the Chain Letter movie, the nerdy, PC-loving brother of a sexy cheerleader buys a gun for self defense only to rely on the security of confusing soliloquies and solitary confinement in his room...with a huge glass wall and skylight and no gun in sight. How to mask the oversight of giving omitting character survival skills without fooling viewers into thinking he's Bear Grylls? Harpoon him and reel that fish in. No-brainer for everyone involved, right?

In the meantime, while some good movies have succeeded at taking off both unique techniques successfully, I couldn't imagine any horror audience that craves guts, gore, and elevating body counts not wanting to kick start their Halloween season with Chain Letter. There's even a sexy treat for the die-hard trick o' treaters out there.

Happy Halloween! - 40732

Find The Foremost Performing Casting Agency

By Brenda Bryant

Do you need to find the best talent agency to help you when you've decided to really take your acting career or modeling career seriously?

The best clue is to find an agency that is fully licensed. Preferably someone who's been around for a decade or more. Check out the agency's list of clients. There should be some names you know on there. If it's all obscure names, probably you want to go elsewhere. A good agency will also help you put together your model composites, an important first step -- as the composite is your business card. This can cost money, too, but it's a necessary process, so make sure you discuss it with your prospective agency.

As far as acting goes, owner and staff background should be quite extensive. Do they have resumes and schooling for four years like at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and later worked as an agent for say 4B Talent in NYC and later as head booking agent for the commercial print and fashion divisions of Foster Fell Model & Talent Agency. They should have also appeared in many films, TV commercials and theatrical productions.

Now comes the fun part: what kind of work do you want to do? You want to walk the runway? Appear in print ads? Star in a commercial? Or go to television and film. That sort of work is everywhere, actually. In Southern Florida, for example, USA Network is filming new seasons of its hit "Burn Notice" and Fox is producing "The Glades."

And should you doubt that you've got the right look for modeling or acting, fear not: Often the best face for a job is the one you see every day. Agencies know that being exotic is not necessarily the best bet, and that anyone, of all ages, professional and non, can be just what a casting director is looking for.

Real agencies are commission-based with no registration fee. If you'd like to have the opportunity to work with a successful one, all you should have to do is fill out their registration form and see if you're a good match. However, make sure you know that they expect you to have a positive mental attitude, a willingness to work long hours on casting calls without complaint and the ability to work flexible hours. - 40732

It Is Simple For You To Watch Paranormal Activity 2 Movie Online Free At Home Anytime

By Adrian Hardy

Hollywood has been making movies for decades. And film aficionados have been trying to keep up with the output for decades too. It seems that the only way to even start to see them all is to Download Paranormal Activity 2 Movie Online for Free along with all the others.

There was a time when even this would have had limitations on what was available. But now that the online movie options have begun to mature, there are almost no vintage or category of movie that cannot be found somewhere out there. Silent movies, blockbuster movies and never-in-the-cinema movies are all available online.

The ways to watch films online has expanded as well. You can easily view a flick on your computer via the Internet, that is a given. However, the limits of screen size can be irksome if you are watching a lot of movies.

Just attaching your computer to the TV has offered expanded screen size to nearly everyone. If you are one of those with a great sound system too, then you have little need to squint or use ear buds. Just sit back and relax. You are in charge of the whole show.

One way to recycle a no longer used or just outdated computer is to pretty much dedicate it to your online TV viewing. It can stay linked up by the cable and be ready any time. No more landfills full of laptops, or at least not as many. No one is going to complain about that.

There are gaming platforms that double as movie conduits as well as set top boxes that can do the same. There seem to be about as many ways to bring movies into your home as screens to watch on. Of course, cable channels that permit you to choose from a wide selection of movies are yet another way.

Theater-like seats along with the great sound systems that are available can bring the level of home viewing enjoyment to very near cinema quality. And, there are not any old wads of gum under the seats. Or, if there are, you know whom they belong to.

Of course you can still rent a DVD and watch on a dedicated player. But that requires travel and paying just like when you go to the movie theater. One of the true pleasures of watching online is the convenience. You get to see what you want when you want, and pretty much where you want.

3D films are still at work in progress for quality online delivery. And you will not get to see some films on their release date. But the industry might reconsider if they thought they could get box office prices from online viewers. It could happen.

So, settle back in your recliner with the tray table and cup holder. Dim the lights and turn up the volume. It is time to Watch Paranormal Activity 2 Movie Online for Free. Whichever platform you choose, you can pretty much get whatever you want to see. And the microwave popcorn is getting really good. - 40732

Music Lessons - I Grew Up On A Clarinet

By Mia Copperhead

For the most part, I loved my childhood. I loved growing up in a house packed with brothers and sisters. I always had a playmate and there was never a boring moment. We had fantastic family time and my mom was the most impressive cook. We all needed to take lessons of all sorts from the time we were truly young. I remember being compelled into trying piano and clarinet from around the time I started elementary school. At first, I was quite thrilled about the piano and quite hesitant with regards to learning the clarinet.

My feelings altered rather quickly, however, when I started showing a natural talent for the clarinet. I had difficulty mastering the ivories of the piano and my mouth and fingers simply naturally worked together on the clarinet in a way that my mother said sounded just like magic. I believe she might have stated that mainly because she wanted to motivate me to stay with the instrument for her own listening pleasure.

I am not accurately sure when it happened, but ultimately I came to delight in playing the clarinet as much as my mom loved hearing me play. I suppose I loved it because it was the one way I stood out from among my siblings. In a big family, I needed to take any opportunity I could get to stand out and make a name for myself. Clarinet was my opportunity and I grabbed ahold of it with all I could.

I opted for private lessons after school and I became a part of every local band and orchestra that would accept me. I speculate my perfectionism was apparent even from these early years. All of my hard work reaped rewards when I was offered a scholarship to a famous music conservatory where I went for 3 years after high school. My parents couldn't be more pleased with me, except I believe they were a little worried that I would not make a career out of clarinet and would be stuck poor and leaning on them.

My time in the conservatory brought me to get a master's in music education and I've uncovered my calling as a teacher of clarinet at a local university. It is my privilege to use my love for the clarinet and my talents to help other students obtain their dreams with the clarinet as well. So follow your dreams, whatever they are. For me, it was the clarinet. I am so happy that I grew up playing it.

Beneficial Ideas About How To Watch The Company Men Movie For Free

By Maxine West

Movies that you download online don't always have to be from the same place. There are plenty of sites online that offer movies for download. But, you want to stick to the websites that are safe and legal. There are tips that can be used when learning how to Download The Company Men Movie Online for Free. Most often, the well know paid services are the best to utilize.

In order to get your movies the fastest, it's important to have high speed internet. This can either be cable, or DSL. The faster the internet service, the faster you can download and watch your movies. Services like dial up may take forever. And, many of the satellite services tend to have a cap after so many Gigabytes of data. These will prove to be ineffective and you won't be able to download any movies.

Another good idea is to have lots of hard drive space. Having at least 500 - 1000GB of free space is the best way to go. Movies can come 2 to 4GB per movie. Most personal computers use about 15 - 20GB's of free space. It mostly depends on the type of operating system you use. A Terabyte drive is actually ideal and can hold 110 full quality DVD movies. Or, 220 lower quality DVD movies. Terabytes are equivalent to 1000GB of space. These don't have to be installed into your computer either. You can also purchase an external Terabyte drive to keep your movies on. They work just like an internal hard drive.

Burning your movies onto disc may also be an option for you. This is important if you don't have enough space on your hard drive. Or, you'd rather not cram any drive with just movies. Computers come pre-packaged with DVD burners. This means you can burn your movies onto DVD for viewing on a DVD player.

However, there may be a restriction depending on the website you use. Some internet movie companies encrypt their movies so that they're only viewed on a registered PC. They may not allow you to burn them to DVD. If they do, they may only be used for storage and not to be viewed on your player. These sites also require a fee in order to download movies.

Some of the better known movie sites allow their customers to download movies and burn them to DVD. Often you have to use their software or special software, but they do allow it. These sites may also have the option of paying your subscription per year as opposed to per month. Check into each service and do some comparisons of offered features.

With certain cables available for your TV, you can also download movies to your DVR system. This can even be done from sites that will not allow you to burn movies to DVD's. But, they can be saved on your DVR's hard drive like you would do with your computer. Movies can then be watched from your DVR's hard drive and on your TV, instead of on your computer.

Specific sites may also offer their customers streaming. This is the method of watching movies online instead of waiting for a completed download. This can also be done on your TV if it has the proper internet connection settings. No matter what service you choose, understanding how to Watch The Company Men Movie Free gives you more choices and freed about the movies you want to watch. - 40732

Pet Art Is A Wonderful Way To Show Your Love For The Animal In Your Life

By Stacie Petty

If you are a pet person, then it is likely that you treat them much as another would treat their human children. To you it is your child, a part of the family and enjoyed in the same ways. The many things you may do to keep your best friend happy and satisfied would probably be envied by some children in the world. Using Pet Art to commemorate your love for your 'child' is one way in which people show off their friend, just as mom's and dad's do their little kids. Not only can you show them off now, but you will always have memories to look at.

The bond between man and his animal is one not quite understood by most folks who have never experienced this kind of connection. They do not understand how this love can be shared between them, when one cannot even speak the language of the other. It is said that love is a language all its own, with words not even needing to be spoken.

To the ones who share this love with their pets, keeping them as toys for children to do with as please, or tying them in the yard to be looked at but not adored, is something unthinkable. It's not possible for some people to comprehend the ties that bind animal parents to their animal kids. These ties can be much stronger than any chain used to attach their pets to a fence.

Dog and cat people may not consider their animals to be pets but a part of the family, and treat them as such. The rapport between them is often nothing short of amazing to see. The loss of the one from the other, human or animal, can have an astonishing effect on the one 'left behind'. Even being lost for a time is devastating to the human and who knows that it may even be the same for the animal. It may not be wise to cross these animal lovers by stating that is not their kid, just an animal. You're likely to get an earful if you do.

Folks who love their 'pet' make them a part of their lives. Fido's picture on the key-chain can be pretty cute, but there countless other ways to keep the memory of your pet with you, even if you're pet is still at home, sleeping comfortably on the couch.

The four legged 'kids' in some households have caused some pet owners to search for ways of including them in everything they do. They take them places, show them off, even take them for rides in cars just for the pleasure of it.

A very individual way in which to share your pleasure of pet ownership is to take advantage of some Pet Art. There are artists who are very adept at catching the essence of a pet/owner relationship on canvas, in photographs, with watercolors, ink. You name it and it most likely can be done, and done very well.

Track Down The Unequaled Performing Talent Agency

By Michelle Kelley

Get Ready to Work

Give me anger. Give me joy. Give me rapture. Give me that moment after love is declared. In return, I give you money. This dynamic is a sort of exaggerated version of what life as a model or actor might be like. In reality there's a lot more work involved, but then: anything worth doing requires work. And anger. And joy. Et cetera. But first, it requires finding a good, honest talent agency.

A task which isn't always as easy as it might seem. Because there are plenty of agencies that are more than willing to take your money but less inclined to find you actual work. You've got to look out for these folks; their interests are not in line with yours. So before you choose anyone, do your homework. Do some comparison shopping.

Asking the Right Questions

Once you've settled on an agency, you're going to need to get your model composites made. These are the photo sheets the agency uses to shop you around to casting directors. This will cost you some money, but make sure you're not getting ripped off in the process. A good sign is if the agency is fully licensed and has a recognizable client list.

At this point, you've got to start thinking about what kind of work you'd like to do. There are possibilities upon possibilities, and working with your agency will help you sort out your feelings on this whole thing. Maybe it'll be commercial work or maybe, just maybe, you'll find your way into TV or film. Whatever the case, you need to get honest about how hard you're going to be willing to work.

Brilliance is All Around Us

And let me put to rest your worries about not having the right look for modeling. Talent agencies are looking for all kinds of looks, not just the nine-foot Brazilian. Because people who read magazines or watch TV also want to see people who look like them. Only with better clothes, naturally. And this is why agencies are looking for people of all ages, too, because you never know what a casting director is going to want to put in that next commercial. Your face may be the best face after all.

But all this is assuming you understand the amount of time and effort you're going to have to put into it to be successful. It's a competitive business, you won't be surprised to hear, and often the work goes to those who are willing to go for it. This is why it's important too to have a good agency on your side. You want to have someone you can trust in your corner, who will work hard for you and help you build good, realistic goals. - 40732

The Truth Regarding The Funding Of The Education System

By Everett Rice

The education method in America is working well, says Bob Bowdon, although simply for some -- and those few definitely aren't the students. In his education docudrama "The Cartel," Bowdon, a TV news reporter in New Jersey, paints a potent ugly scene of the institutional corruption that has resulted in more or less incredible wastes of taxpayer money. The numbers recite the tale: $17,000 exhausted per pupil, and at hand's only a 39% reading proficiency rate, it's tough to reason that there's a crisis underway, but harder to agree on a resolution.

The two sides of this conflict meet head-on in interviews throughout Bowdon's picture: there are the teachers union and school board members who have managed to apportion 90 cents of every taxpayer dollar into everything but teachers' salaries -- while a quantity of school administrators earn upwards of $100,000. On the other side are the supporters of a charter school system, private schools in which parents can use tax vouchers to pay tuition and leave behind the public nightmare. One of Bowdon's principal criticisms is that a teacher, even a shoddy one, fundamentally can't be fired -- which provides zero reason to do much actual teaching.

"'The Cartel' examines lots of uncommon aspects of public teaching, tenure, financing, support drops, corruption --meaning larceny -- vouchers and charter schools," says Bowdon. "And as such it kind of serves as a quick-moving primer on all of the heavy topics amongst the education-reform movement."

"The Cartel" started fashioning the round of the festivals in summer 2009, and made its theatrical debut virtually a year later, in spring 2010. It consequently proceeds the more-recently released, though higher profile, education docudrama "Waiting for Superman," directed by Davis Guggenheim ("An Inconvenient Truth"). Bowdon sees the two documentaries as taking alternative approaches to the similar quandary, "The Cartel" by examining public policy and "Superman" centering on the human-interest aspects. "My picture is the left-brained variation, more analytical," Bowdon says, "'Waiting for Superman' is more the right-brained treatment."

The left-brained method means arguments that follow the economics -- money misspent, opportunities wasted. Although he calls it left-brained, still "The Cartel" reaches some heartbreaking moments of emotion. The weeping face of a youthful girl who learns she was not selected for a place at a charter school makes its own intense debate for the unsatisfactory failure of a state's education system.

And whilst it may be straightforward to acknowledge the presence of corruption in a state so associated with organized crime, the uncomfortable fact of the matter is that this is a highly familiar situation. Bowdon's film illustrates a local crisis, but any viewer will recognize the systems of system failure in their own state's schools. Bowdon puts his faith in the charter schools, where the taxpayer has influence over the kind and quality of education. But he also makes it unambiguous that those in power are going to be unwilling to give it up without a fight. - 40732

Tough Lessons About The Corrupt Public School System

By Frederick Lee

The school system may be made to be exceedingly profitable, says Bob Bowdon, although just at the expense of things resembling teachers and students. In his education documentary "The Cartel," Bowdon, a TV news reporter in New Jersey, paints a gravid ugly impression of the institutional putridness that has resulted in pretty much unbelievable wastes of taxpayer money. It's not arduous for Bowdon to exemplify that something's appallingly haywire with a state that pays $17,000 per pupil but can only manage a 39% reading proficiency rate -- that there's a crisis is undeniable, how to deal with it is another question entirely.

The two sides of this fight meet head-on in interviews throughout Bowdon's picture: there are the teachers union and school board members who have managed to allocate 90 cents of every taxpayer buck into everything but teachers' salaries -- although a selection of school administrators receive upwards of $100,000. On the other side are the supporters of charter schools -- private schools that can work beyond the influence of what Bowdon calls The Cartel. Bowdon makes much of the fact that it's almost impossible for a teacher to be fired, a safety net that does little to incite hard work in those teachers who acknowledge they hold a career irrespective of how many of the three Rs they instruct -- if any.

"'The Cartel' examines lots of distinctive aspects of public education, tenure, funding, patronage drops, subversion --meaning theft -- vouchers and charter schools," says Bowdon. "And as such it kind of serves as a swift-moving primer on all of the raging topics between the education-reform front."

"The Cartel" first appeared on the festival circuit in summer 2009, appearing in theaters countrywide a year later. Hopefully it will get a rise, and not be overshadowed, by the more recently released docudrama "Waiting for Superman," by "An Inconvenient Truth" director Davis Guggenheim. Bowdon sees the films as complementary, and hopes that "Superman," with its human-interest position, draws more notice to his own, which focuses on public policy. "My film is the left-brained edition, more analytical," Bowdon says, "'Waiting for Superman' is more the right-brained treatment."

The left-brained approach means arguments that observe the economics -- money misspent, opportunities wasted. Although he calls it left-brained, still "The Cartel" reaches some disheartening moments of emotion. One girl, crying after discovering she wasn't selected in a lottery for a charter school, tells the story of What Went Wrong as well as Bowdon's arguments.

And although there's an irony in this kind of public depravity happening in a state renowned for its organized crime, it's evident that this is not an isolated collapse. Bowdon's film illustrates a local problem, but any viewer will spot the systems of system failure in their own state's schools. Bowdon puts his faith in the charter schools, where the taxpayer has influence over the kind and quality of education. But he also makes it reliable that those in power are going to be unwilling to give it up without a struggle. - 40732
