The Best Leonardo DiCaprio Roles Up To This Point

By Daniel Arthur

Whether you like him or not, Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the most popular actors alive and will be for the foreseeable future (barring a Joaquin Phoenix meltdown). I happen to fall into the former group; I think he's incredible and it is clear that at this point in time whatever movies he wants to do, he can.

But which of his films are the best? The following movies are my favorite Leonardo DiCaprio films in his already illustrious career.

The first movie I would like to mention is Titanic. While it is certainly not my favorite movie of his by any means, you have to give credit where credit is due. This is the second highest grossing film of all time.

Another film of Leonardo DiCaprio's that is definitely worth seeing, if you haven't already, is Shutter Island. This is a different type of movie for both Leo and diretor Martin Scorsese; it is dark, it is scary and it has a twist that will blow your mind.

Blood Diamond is another movie of his that blew my mind. This is a very important film, as it exposes the rest of the world to the type of industry that is the African diamond trade. I'm not saying this is all factual, but clearly they did their research.

I would hate to make a list of Leonardo DiCaprio movies without including Inception. Simply put, this movie is absolutely awesome. If you like films that make you think and are based on original ideas that will have you questioning scenes weeks after you view it, Inception is for you.

Who can make a list of Leonardo DiCaprio films and not include The Departed. There is a reason that Leo was cast in the role of Billy Costigan, a cop on the wrong side of an undercover investigation. His paranoia in this film rubbed off on me. This movie is directed by the great Martin Scorcese and has an all star cast including Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Alec Baldwin, Jack Nicholson, Martin Sheen and the lovely Vera Farmiga.

In reading this article, I am hopeful that there is at least one movie on this list which you have not yet seen and will not add to your movie list. - 40732
